Beadwork

Beadwork

Before glass beads, Native Americans used porcupine quills, seeds, and other raw materials for adornment and decoration. With the introduction of metals and glass to the tribes, beading became more prolific because the raw materials were easier to acquire. The result was a cultural explosion of color, style and a transformation of traditional methods that threads from the past to modern eras.
